Assuming that you are trying to find 1st and early edition OZ books and are not happy with results from ebay and various book stores, how would you hunt for them? Please eliminate any answer related to flea market, and local auction and walking from store to store.. I prefer using interenet ( yahoo, google, gregslist, etc). What words would you search for ?
Give a call to Duttenhoffer’s Bookstore. They specialize in used and rare books, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen first editions of the Baum series on display. If they’re not first editions, they’re at least big, hardback color-illustrated versions, and special enough that they’re under lock and key.

Here are a number of very rare editions from independent booksellers belonging to abebooks.com: http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?yrl=1800&tn=oz+%7Eaka&sortby=1&bx=on&fe=on&an=baum&sts=t&bi=0&yrh=1920&ds=30&y=0&x=0
I narrowed it to first editions through 1920, sorted by most expensive first, with the word "aka" removed from the results (because one of the booksellers was adding the word "Oz" to other books written by Baum under various pseudonyms). You can change the dates and/or first edition requirement by clicking on "More Search Options" at the top right of the screen.
I hope this helps!
