		<description>Go for the Sony.  The lens makes a notable difference in the sharpness and contrast of the picture.  Yes, you are hampered by the lousy proprietary Memory Stick, but they are getting cheaper and you can even buy micro-SD to MSPD converter sticks very inexpensively.

I have an old 4MP Sony with a Zeiss lens and its pictures still rival 10MP P/S cameras at print sizes less than or equal to 8x10.

You also want to look for shutter lag.  My old Sony turns on in less than 2 seconds and has almost no shutter lag so I don&#039;t miss shots that require quick reaction.
