Are you hiring in the Atlanta, GA area?

I know this a long shot and I ONLY want serious responses Please!
I move to Atlanta last May and had been searching for a job before then. The job I came down for was filled and I was stuck. Long story short~ I have a B.S. in Speech Communications (Communications), I have over 5 years Administrative Assistant experience, and 10 in customer service. I have basic to expert computer skills (word, power point, excel etc) and type 45-50 wpm. Believe me I have applied high and low, internet and in person like everyone else I’m sure. The market is not as good as I thought and I am beyond stress because of.
If you are hiring or knows a company that is Please let me know. Only Serious Answers and No need to be rude.

i am in the same boat I have been out of a job since march of 2006 and have not found anything yet. I have 5 yrs customer service and have a b.s. in business. I have had to put into burger king just so i can find something to pay the bills but still nothing the market is really bad here. one company i called to check on my status said that they had over 300 applications/resumes for that one position. i decided that i was stressing way to much especially with a new baby so my husband and i decided i would stay home and just babysit a few kids and save daycare cost. my friend told me she got her job through a temp agency i would try that. good luck

I’m sure you are watching the Atlanta Journal Constitution help wanteds but you may need to look into different categories of jobs. For example sales and marketing may be logical off shoots of customer service so may some medical fields. If you have not been checking http://www.thejobsite.org that may be helpful. It lists all state government jobs. Many of those require a BA or BS in just about anything. Others require basis office skills which you would certainly have. Click applicant resource center then click metro Atlanta on the map. Since they may not use the same job title you are accustomed to try clicking all occupation/function areas At first glance I see 2 admin assistant jobs, a couple of database management jobs, an exec assistant, a personel tech, various program assistants. Some may not be your dream job but once you are in the state merrit system it is easy to transfer to other job for which you may qualify as they come open.

If you would like to put your customer service skills to work working for your self with a very low investment ($99-150) and quick return potential (ie within the first week or month) please email me through Yahoo Answers. We are looking for someone like that.

the guy above says sales and marketing jobs… you will have much less luck in that area than youre ahaving in the field youre in… sales and marketing jobs are the first to go when a company cleans house.. my aunt has been in sales and marketing for 25 years in atlanta working for kodak. she had it good. nice company card, business acct. free bus. lunches, awesome insurance and a sweet salary on top of it all.. then after 25 years, they had to cut back. her job was on of the first to go. shes a hard worker and very dedicated to her work. she then started doing advertising an sales for a major newspaper and the ylet her go right after cmas after working there for 5 yrs and doin an excellent job. i really dont know where to tell ya to look, as she is having a very hard time finding even an entry level job. try some of the cell phone compainies in atl.. like verizon stores or att stores, even tmobile. they pay pretty decent and if you have customer service exp that is a plus.

Check Dekalb Co and Fulton Co schools. You may be able to work as a Speech Pathologist on a Provisional Certificate or the worst case scenario – Substitute Teacher.

Also, both school districts are ALWAYS looking for secretaries with the skills that you have. Check both websites for further information.

Atlanta is a tough place to get a job without connections.
